WHY CHOOSE ME?
MY EXPERIENCE
I have a vast experience of over 12 years working with adults of all ages (and life stages) as well as young people (teenagers), who brought a whole range of experiences, backgrounds and challenges in life. In addition to my private practice, I have worked for the NHS, various counselling organisations and schools. I offer both short-term and long-term therapy.
I also have 8 years experience as a lecturer and tutor to counselling trainees in adult education, from level 2 up to level 6, as well as running workshops.
MY QUALIFICATIONS
As an integrative therapist, I can draw on several types of counselling and psychotherapy in a way that is tailored to your experiences, personality and needs. A range of counselling and psychological theories and models underpin my work, some of these are: Person-centred, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and variations of these. First and foremost, I believe it is the quality of the therapeutic relationship and alliance that we will build together that is of huge significance, perhaps over and above the specific approaches and techniques used per se. My qualifications include:
-
Post graduate diploma (PGDip) Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (level 7)
-
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) certificate
-
Advanced Counselling Diploma (level 4)
-
BSc (Hons) Psychology
In addition to the above qualifications I have also undertaken many CPD (continued professional development) courses and workshops & maintain this on a regular basis.
Member of the BACP – British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy
